Saw this on the internet (not mine), but seems to be the same idea as yours.

Be sure to include some drains in the battery box.

I'm actually thinking I have to glue this one with something like that black resin headlight glasses are often held in place. This is how it looks on the carbs (notice how the top is a bit folded together because of the tight fit):

What size diameter should it have been?

Yep, already drilled some holes in the corners at the bottom.

No idea about the exact diameter to be honest. I think I can make this work, but slightly bigger would've been just a little bit easier I reckon.

Yesterday the mail man brought a box full of goodies; headlight, tail light, indicators, titanium coloured pipewrap and my new GP-style muffler. The latter one I knew had a wrong inlet diameter (muffler was 50mm, exhaust pipe 58mm) but since it's cone shaped I wasn't worried. I cut off a few centimeter to the point where it would just snuggly fit over the exhaust pipe. Both the exhaust and muffler have inner baffles but luckily they weren't the same diameter so they were sliding exactly over each other, making it a precise fit.

Also, received some pics from the shop that's making my CBR1000 monoshock fit the CX linkage:

I'll be picking those up next tuesday, together with my VF1000 lower triple with the CX stem pressed in it. Hopefully somewhere next week I'll have a roller again

Next project I think will be wiring. I also have to come up with an idea about the 1-into-2 air filter, because I hadn't taken into account the reservoir on the new CBR shock which get's in the way for the big K&N I now have lying. I'm thinking of extending the tubes between the manifold and carbs... we'll see...

    Got some more work done!

As it turned out, my original plan of having my tail light and license plate holder attached to my frame loop won't work. There's simply not enough room between the wheel and the frame. Rear wheel travel with my new shock is about 80 mm, which leaves about 30 mm between the tire and my frame. I decided to attempt making a bracket behind the rear wheel for the license plate instead.

Wrapped my exhaust, at least most of it... Don't have enought wrap left for the left header pipe so I'll have to order another roll to finish it.

Fabricated a bracket for mounting the exhaust/muffler.

Started making side panels. The rought shape is there, now I need to borrow a Dremel and cut out the center, leaving only an edge of about 10 or 15 mm. The panels will the be covered with mesh. Need to figure out the mounting too for the panels; right now they're just mocked up with tape on the backside.

Oh, and almost forgot; I scored a set of Tomaselli fully adjustable clip-ons for a steal! Temporarily put back the original foot pegs so I could test out what's will be the riding position.

And for shits & giggles, I threw on an original Eurosport tank. I think I've made the right decision replacing it with a GL tank for this build.

Very intriguing build! Never really considered the GL for mods, but lately I've seen so many creative examples. Beautiful craftsmanship, got the popcorn on the stove....
