correct. If it's an actual bearing I would say it's shot. Any place besides paying 70 plus dollars for this thing would be preferable. sorry no pictures or anything. I'm currently prepping plans and packing to build a hunting cabin so the bike hasn't been priority. Any suggestions for getting it out would be nice. I haven't looked in the manual yet.

I see davidsilverspares sells this bearing but it's odd looking. almost as if it does have more movement than a typical bearing. maybe mine is normal. aside from the sand blasting sand in there that needs cleaning out.

ok so you left the seal and bearing cone in the frame when you sandblasted it?

if so pop the seal wash the bearing out repack it

the bearing is pressed into place by the tension from the swingarm pin

with out the swingarm in place the cone has nothing holding it in place and is loose

    does that sound right?

    if not post a picture

That sounds about right murray. I'll give that a shot. I had it taped off but some grit still got by it. I'll look it over and let you know what I find out. I found it odd that it would be shot from a low mileage bike.

So I took it apart.......pried the seal out and fished the bearing out and it was exactly as you said Murray. Cleaned it up and regreased it. Good as new. Finally going to get the motor in this thing this week and get it rolling again and do the wiring. I've been side lined with a much more important project. Building a hunting shack and finding out I have another child along the way! My daughter is totally convinced she's having a baby sister. lol. I guess we'll see what happens.

I've done pretty much the same with the bearing only I also coated over the seal. Is the seal supposed to come out easily?

yeah mine came out fairly easy

Got the motor in the frame and swing arm put back on. I think we may need to do a rebuild on our rear shock and change the spring rate. Any suggestions on where to send that? It's a showa off a CBR. Noticed some oil leakage from the clutch cover. Think that will go away once the motor is ran a bit? Or just tighten the bolts some more.

I'm thinking we will probably run the teal green gas lines and lines for venting and overflow. I like the contrast. Maybe stay black too. I'll see.

Since that is a rebuildable nitrogen gas shock, you can have it revalved to be stiffer.

we are all given sh*t in life, but some of us learn to turn it into fertilizer and grow from it, and some us try to fling it on others like monkeys.
