You may have very well given this the push over the edge I was looking for! Anyone else see the opportunity (ies) for license plate mount?!

I will always give you credit for this by the way. Great idea!

we are all given sh*t in life, but some of us learn to turn it into fertilizer and grow from it, and some us try to fling it on others like monkeys.

Breather catchcan was an alternative suggestion for your brass bottle as you seemed unsure about the size for a coolant overflow.

That powder coat turned out wicked! Love it!!!
I like the frame and carbs for licence plate/brake lights too, very unique and quite the conversation starter

Back wheel took forever to clean... only had to bake at 380 for 15 minutes.

I am focused on getting all the parts that go on the motor finished so I can get a clear coat on everything and reassemble. I hit a bit of a learning curve last 2 days... How do I achieve two different colors on the cylinder head cover.

    Problems I ran into:

    - Powder coating doesn't like to be baked twice, I read it can be done a certain way but I am getting gunk as a result
    - I hate taping and it never comes out the way I want, especially on this type of piece (so many curves, small portions, etc)
    - In order to get adequate coverage on the head, I have to lay down sufficient amounts of powder... result was an orange vs copper tone

Here are some pictures I took along the way:

You will see in the last photo I tried a differnet method and achieved the copper I wanted. The idea was to then paint in all the areas with black I later... In the midst of doing all this I had an idea.

Powder coat the head, then paint the entire thing in black, use acetone to wipe away paint in desired copper areas, after a couple minutes. It worked... (but the copper is ORANGE UGH!)

Bonus: this method has the cleanest results and is the easiest to pull off.

I am letting them dry and will sand blast both so I can start all over again - I will upload a video showing how afterwards.

I guess sixth time will be a charm? Note to self... let powder coat cure 1 day before applying acetone. Good chance that now I am putting on such a thin coat, it wont hold up. I will let you know.

Its too bad my complementary color is not silver. If anything, I suppose this is a testament to my tenacity.
