Considering the age of parts, I would just go for the Raysan Hall Effect setup.

we are all given sh*t in life, but some of us learn to turn it into fertilizer and grow from it, and some us try to fling it on others like monkeys.

I was thinking about that. In fact I was down in the garage this evening looking things over. The original recovery tank was disintegrated so I located a generic replacement tank just under the fiberglass skirt on the front of the rear box. If I take a shot at doing it that way I need to add some "wings" to my bike lift to support the rear wheels. This isn't something I would want to do lying on the floor.

the biggest problem will be getting the pulse gen plate screws loose

they are a pain unless you can get a impact driver in on them

i have pulse generator cover gaskets if you cant find one
    GET AN OIL FILTER ADAPTER

Or you can cut your own from 0.8mm gasket sheet.

Re loosening screws: If it has been apart in the last couple of years and they weren't overtightened you should be OK. If they haven't been touched in decades and they won't come out without an impact driver then you may have to have the engine out.

OCR: Its a TI bike. I'm not sure whether Ray makes pickups for them...

ray makes a kit to replace the pulse genrators and it also does away with the ignitors another bonus

it also has soft start automatic timing retard to 350 rpm so it makes it easier for the starter to spin the engine with no kickback

i have used quite a few and they work well and simplify wiring and component layout and with the dollar conversion only about 140

Looks very interesting. Years ago I converted my GL1000 to electronic ignition (Dyna) and never looked back so I will give the Rae-San ignition serious consideration.

The bike sat in a carport for about 10 years before I acquired it so it would not surprise me if the fasteners are "stuck". That said, when I replaced the waterpump on my '75 GL1000 two years ago, it wasn't difficult to remove the cover screws.

the cover screws will not give you trouble just make sure you get the one hiding near the wire entry int its hard to see

the two philips screw yu use to adjust the timing are the fun ones

make sure you look up and follow the factory static timing procedure
