EDIT: this was a post from Wed. that never posted??

Got to work this morning and was offered a "bonus" say off (without pay of course) I grabbed and ran....

The center stand was being a nasty bitch and more rust than paint. Pulled it off dipped in evapo-rust for a few hours, finish with a wire brush. Good rinse and sun dried. Hit it with a few coats of etch primer and a couple coats of rust oleum (till the nozzle plugged up on me. Should be good for a few more years.

Changed the gear oil in the final drive and hit the zerk fitting w/ some fresh grease. Finally ordered some new SS brake lines this morning. Need to save a few bucks before I can order tires. Will probably go with the Shinko 230's Have been very happy with them on both 500's

There is a ton of cleaning to do, but a cold beer sounds good about now.

Well brake lines were due here yesterday. No show w/ USPS. Mail truck just came up the hill today, no del.... Damm I want to take this old girl for a brief spin.

flushed and cleaned the MC as well as the splitter, ready for new lines. Also did the main fuse mod today just for grins. The OEM fuse looked good and there was even a spare inside the lid. Have not seen that before. Left it in place for historical thinkers.

It sounds like she's coming along nicely. I hope you get those new lines soon. I dare say you'll be riding it a lot in the near future.

If it doesn't make you smile, you're on the wrong bike.

Brake lines arrived yesterday, Installed today. Fairly happy w/ lines. Only issues were the 2 lines to the caliper were a bit long and the fitting angles were not quite the same as OEM. Got em on however. Bleed them out in no time only to find a drip at the caliper. Pulled it back off and replaced the new washer?? Second bleed was the typical 10,000 pulls on the lever and had to bleed the MC 3 times to get the air out. Currently have lever strapped back over night for any remaining micro bubbles. Have a good lever, just want to max it out.

Still need tires and seat cover and hours of elbow grease. The chrome bits are cleaning up better than I had hoped. Most of the rust spots were minor and cleaned up w. 0000 steel wool. Will be attacking the body w/ polishing compound soon.

Well did a brief shakedown ride in the hood today. Not real pleased I'm sad to say. Seems to have a sort of dead throttle response right around 3.5k to 4k RPM. Almost like fuel starvation but then will power thru for a bit and jump up to 6.5- 7000 and bog again. Tested the pulsars (while hot) at 580-590 ohms and I'm sure when test cool (78`f per FSM) they will be in spec?
I do not have an air filter in the bike at the moment so that may be part of the issue? Carbs were ultrasonic cleaned, but I may have missed something in there as well? Any thoughts are welcome!

Also never got her out of 2nd gear due to location and tire condition, maybe hit 35mph. Speedo not connected atm.

got a text last night from the seller. Title has been fully cleared by the state and is now issued in his name. Will meet him today to pick it up. One less item to worry about.
