I want spoked wheels front and back, but I also want disk brakes...... Does anybody have the slightest clue on a wheel that would be compatible with the read hub and also takes a disk brake? Thanks!

This guy has a good idea, but I feel like it wouldn't work with my bike, and the braking system.

This was somewhat common in Germany at one time. One member of this forum, EnduroRdr, has done it by that method, though he documented it on a different forum.

For rear disc, you can use a GL1100 or CB900 hub, but because the axle is larger, it will require some custom machine work.

I've got plans to do it, but it will be one of the last pieces of my build.

So now I'm going to need parts from 3 different wheels! Man what a head ache. I guess it will be worth it in the long haul.

    just use a gl1000 75-77 front end

and a gl1000 rear tire and custom make the rear axle and spacers and make a new dust shield

    caliper stay and mount

here is mine midway thru my build prior to lowering the front end

    GET AN OIL FILTER ADAPTER

Order The Quick Build Exhaust Pipes

    GET A QUICKSET VALVE TOOL

I noticed that nobody felt so inclined to tell him that all he needed for spoke wheels was rims. The stock rims are spoked rims of course they're not what he's thinking.

    But they're still spoke rims.

Will the drive direct mount or will that have to be modified as well? I don't mind fabricating the parts for it, I just don't touch gears, they're far to intimidating for the likes of me. Thanks!

This is true! I was too lazy to count the spokes on a rim via google image.

If you're fabricating parts, it seems like it's worth making the spoke anchor brackets custom to whatever rim you buy. seems to be something not too difficult if you have the right machinery. (which would mean you won't have to touch gears)

I have heard of a disc brake conversion but I am unsure as to whether it will work with this setup.

the wheel and drive will mesh so the final drive does not have to be altered you do need to fabricate a new dust ring for the final drive

adapter/spacers a new axle and caliper mounts and caliper stay to use the gl 1000 rear wheel '

also to change the tire the final drive must be removed with the wheel not a big deal
