Closing the rear end of the frame

Finally got busy with the angle grinder and chopped of the rear of my frame to accommodate a scrambler seat from Tex Avina. I can't decide how to close these holes in the rear bracket. A fabricator suggested pinching and welding them but I'm not sure how to go about that. I've seen some other weld caps on there. Any thoughts? I've searched the forum for pics but I thought I'd reach out as this is a big haystack

A loop that joins the two is going to restore some structural rigidity to the frame.

right. Instead of doing that I'm just going to weld a cross bracket and mount the seat to that.

How are you locating the rear upper shock mounts? Did you measure from the (non moving) frame?

    Thanks...

His mounts are still there. He didn't cut that far forward.

I closed off the ends with a piece of metal and welded the original crossbar (after modifying it) to retain rigidity.

Thanks MechENg, looks like I'm on the same track as you. How did you finish that tail end up? Any pictures you could share?

That could be a cool idea. Need to see if I have the fabrication skills to do something like that.
