Question about gl1000 spoked wheel fitment

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of moding my gl650 with some gl1000 spoked wheels. I have fabricated the nesesary wheel bearing spacer and have machined the lip off the hub. When I put the hub on the final drive there is a gap of 0.110" between the hub and the dust seal. Is this normal or should I space out the dust seal a bit?
I tried to attach some pics but to no avail

    Thanks dave

why did you machine off the hub i just cut it open a bit in diameter so the gl1000 wheel fits over the dust shield

or did you follow instructions to put it on a cx final drive
