    Temperature differential is the important factor. Energy always moves from more hot to less hot. Anyway, it has been proven many times that a black surface will transfer heat better and a flat black one best and I don't have time to argue today.

    Not getting into heat dissipation or the like but my long experience with old radiators says that if you don't protect the core with paint the fins corrode away to nothing.

    I've always kept them painted. They last a lot longer that way.

    No one is arguing black transfers better. We're on the same page there.
