    New here, bought a CX650turbo

    Hi there,

I live near Stuttgart, I´m nearly 57 years old and have bikes since 1978. Mostly Honda and Kawa from the 70th.

The other day, been offered a CX650turbo that is sitting in a shed since 1995 just some miles from where I live.
Seen it, fell in love and bought it.
Never realy looked for a CX but now I have one.

Will try ro bring her back into live, although I have no idea from turbos, injection and electrics like that.
Actually, I first have to finish a current project (a 1969 CB750four KO) but hope to start in April with the CX.

Here is the bike when I saw it first in the shed

Hello here from the Niederlande !

    Congratulations with your new bike.

There was a CX650 Turbo for sale near Stuttgart somewhere in 2014. This CX650 Turbo had an electrical problem and if I remember correctly already had blown 2 fuel injection computers before the owner gave up............

A member of this forum , Turbomapf , tried to purchase it but the deal felt through.
He also lives close to Stuttgart and has a CX500 Turbo

    See link for Turbomapf

Just went through the posts of Jörg.
He wanted to swap a CX500t with a CX650TURBO owners manual so I guess he bought one?

Hopefully that's not that 650turbo with those electrical gremlins.

Goodness she's a looker, a bike before her time. I am excited for you.

    Good luck!

    Thank you!

Gettung more and more excited by reading about those fascinating bikes here and in the www.

Bought a shop manual. WOW, look at this compared to a CB750 shop manual!

Here are some detail photos out of the shed. Lots of TLC at least to come.

Well aside from all the extra outer fairing, skirts, moldings, etc- that stuff makes it a lot more like a Goldwing, lol...then the 750 is air cooled, chain driven and just an all around basic motorcycle... Hard to believe in 1969, it was the original superbike!

It needs a lot of TLC but the most important thing is that all the hard to find parts are there so be carefull with those

    - Seat with CX Turbo logo
    - Original Keys
    - Gascap with logo
    - a set of front blinkers

I saw that you bought a CX500 Turbo manual and not a CX650 Turbo.
You wouldn't think but Honda changed a lot between those bikes, most important are the electronic fuel injection and ignition.

The most beautiful of them all . The flagship of the CX/CL range . If one can add a pair of accompaning panniers and a top box , the best tourer in it's class !
Proud owner - Honda GL 500 D ( Silverwing) , 1981/2 model, unmodified , with non original panniers and top box Also original parallel Keihin carbs with no acceleration pump, plus an autotensioner for the cam chain.
