A pair of adoptees to keep the CX company.

The yellow one is a 1977 Velosolex 4600 V3 that was only available in the US. The black one is a 1973 Velosolex 3800. Available just about everywhere back then. Specs are similar for both, 49cc, 0.8hp top speed of 19 mph. 24 if you help. The 4600 also has a brake light, horn, and kill switch which were US DOT spec for 1977.

I raced bicycles in the late 80s, early 90s and was doing an event in France when I first saw one of these and thought I'd like one someday. A couple months ago, this pair came up on Craigslist at $200 for the pair. I just said "MINE".

    They are a hoot.

Last weekend I saw 3 older guys buzz by on their restored 'motorized bicycles' and they looked like they could not be having more fun.
The ones they had looked older than yours, have no idea what they were.

Speaking of old guys having fun, this was at the MACMC (Midwest Antique and Classic Motorcycle Club) breakfast a couple weeks ago. Too bad I forgot I had my camera in my back pocket and only got this short vid.
