Never. The CX is beautiful compared to that downsized wing. At 18000, I'm not impressed.

    At 1300 cc's, with a V4, weighing 700lbs and costing $18K - I would say not.

Like most bikes, the price tag is staggering. Eighteen THOUSAND dollars? No way. I could at least toy with the idea of buying one if it were half the price.

Why don't the motorcycle people build comfortable bikes in the 500 to 900 cc range? There are a number of great machines out there that I would love to own, if they were just reconfigured a little.

granted, the price is prohibitive, especially for an 'around town' bike. It is pretty though. BTW, Harley has introduced their liquid cooled bikes in a 500 and 750cc starting at $6,700

The front of the motor does look CX-like doesn't it?

My wife's brand new 2012 Beetle was less than $18,000 out the door with taxes. Hard for me to understand why a motorcycle would cost more. Now, a racebike with exotic metals and development costs, yes I can see that, but things are getting a bit silly these days with ordinary bikes.

Checked the news on the new budget H-Ds and that seems pretty interesting. A few years back before the "recession" I told everyone that the cost of motorcycles was getting ridiculous and that the escalation of prices and everyone buying near the top of the food chain would have to come to an end when the housing bubble finally burst. I predicted that when the money ran out, they would get caught with their pants down and the manufacturers would have to scramble to bring sub 1000cc/$10,000 budget bikes back to the lineup. Said the same regarding all of the 40K + SUVs too. Was right on both counts. Anybody see the new CB500 or FZ-9 lately? Not sure either would have been possible without pressures to lower costs.

It is an absolutely beautiful machine, but I have to agree with the dissenters in this thread. Prices for a nice road bike have become outrageous. I will never own anything like that unless I suddenly win the lottery or something.
