    G-loria

In all good faith and trust, the wonderful machine that Larry crafted, and that I became owner of, is now in the ownership (in situ) of our esteemed member Corey (Wiscokid)

Oh, the heart tugs true, knowing that a faithful member here will care for her properly. Rightful transfer shall commence after we get done with the food coma.

    G-loria is now Corey's.

I am in awe of this situation... In which i had never expected. I am speechless! With both my bikes down, and questioning what to do, this has brought a light to my eyes again for future road trips.

Joel is a saint!... Although probably the nastiest saint you could meet :-P but that is why we get along.

    Can't thank him enough...

    More to come

Congrats to Corey! You now have a piece of history! Curate it well.

Joel - I can only imagine the difficulty of the decision you just made. You have just entrusted a significant part of your "life" to someone else.
Corey is a great choice - almost like passing a family heirloom from father to son.

That almost deserves a bitch slap, but I'll save it for other days. I've put a few restrictions in place for Corey, so the masterpiece will remain as such.

Yeah even thinking about messing with this bike is a sin!... There isn't anything that needs changing on it. Still pretty taken back by the situation. Super excited for thanksgiving dinner at Joels place in general, will have to take it step by step :-)

    Circa 5-14-11

The end of the story is here. I picked up Joel at the airport today. After familiarizing him with all the stuff that's different from his CX to the GL, he's on his way home to Washington with her. It was nice to ride with him for a few miles after I got him to the freeway. Now the nail biting starts until he gets home. Unfortunately there is some bad weather in our area. And the worst of it is going to be up in the last half of his approximately 600 mile ride. I'm sure everything will be fine on his longest cruise ever though.

Here he is just as he's leaving. Good luck and Thank you Joel.

    Larry

Now the NEXT story begins, and I hope when Corey picks up G-Loria, he will be as dapper (duh, no brainer, he has the same helmet now too! Thanksgiving supper/day will be a real joy.

It's quite true, the bitter sweet of this, but knowing all that has transpired physically for me over the last 3.5 years, I know in my heart this is one of the wisest things I could ever do, and I could not ask for a better gate keeper.

Larry, your lady, from your labor of love, will be in good hands, and close by.

Pics of departure will be shared, just as it was above. I'd even lend my jacket, but .....nah, I'll let Corey show his color's. He has much better gear than I do.

By the way, to the masses here, I'm NOT going away from the forum! You have been a part of my family for over a decade plus.

Joel, I know it's a sad but happy time for you selling her. But it's nice to know that she's going to a good home and will see the road again.
It's nice to see she's so well respected and cared for.

Corey, Thanks for giving her a good home. This will be a Thanksgiving day you'll always remember. Enjoy her and ride safe. And if you ever need anything, you know how to get hold of me.

Well, the day arrived, and a damn cold one at that!!! Yesterday was laced with sleet and snow, and today never got above 40f, with VERY STIFF WINDS, but thankfully dry for the most part. A certain irony there, eh Larry? *Wink*

Corey had a nice weekend jaunt at the beach, and then came over to my house this evening. We decided this would be the official "possession" moment. We first "chilled" a bit, watched a bit of football and yakked at each other, then headed to a local water hole for a scrumptious supper. Good plan, as I had to run an errand, so he graciously helped me out. Always a good thing to shop with a full stomach so as not to be enticed.

Back home after we supped and shopped, we sat again to catch our breath and pull our "game" face on again for the moment upcoming. A lot of sighs and deep thought ensued for about, well, a while. Clocks don't talk in these matters.

Here G-Loria sits, awaiting Corey's command to fire.

She did so admirably in just a few presses of the horn.........HAHAHAHA Chalk that up to the stun factor! She lit right up....using the correct button of course.

Highly appropriate gearing for such a wintery eve as this....the chill factor is near 12f, but at least dry!!

After a thorough warm up session for both G-Loria and Corey, the proper look over of the buttons......(I know, I'm giving him crap).........ok, safety check, the new couple are well on their way.

I just received word he arrived safe at home. The next journey with G-Loria is now officially Corey's.

I will never forget this, ever.................................
