and yes it is a standart cx500 engine(not modified turbo engine).
saw on instagram a guy named Luke has built this beast. he says that it is converted to run methanol fuel injection and has a k03 turbo from a 1.8 Volkswagen.
right now the psi isn't set high for basic tuning but he says that with this combo it could deliver up to 200hp!!

what a beast! watch the video in this link:

dang, now i want a custom built turbo for the cx also hah

Cool. 200 HP sounds a tad optimistic. Even if theoretically possible I think it's going to break something before you dial in enough boost to get there.

The CX motor is a tough old beast but a 300 % power increase is going to kill just about any motor in short order.

the only way that will ever make 200 hp is running on metanol and pure nitrous

the best done with total control so far is around 143

The standard 500 turbo had bigger crank pins and bearings, uprated oil pump and lower compression ratio, that engine won't survive very long and up to 200bhp is very doubtful .

    yes and that

i do love the way that exhaust dumps out it wont be warm at all when it starts spitting flames around your

    legs

i love how he can make 200 hp and keep the stock cdi ignition and needs no timing change or control

i could save myself thousands if i could figure out how to do that

oh well at least he will be able to push start it maybe he is not going to run a battery

The compression would need to be lowered to 7 - 8 : 1 at a guess.

I'm no expert, but I'd expect about 70 HP based on a 30 % power cut {if the compression has been lowered} lowering output to 35 HP, but this then doubled by the turbo.

Can't see how big the turbo is but the bigger it is theoretically more power but also more lag. I think the lag would make it hard to get along with even if it otherwise worked.

Would be very interested to see it run though.

Maybe it was built for a once off spectacular burnout, like a meteorite, without any water cooling in sight ?

In the video there's a smaller rad below the turbo.
I'm doubtful for the 200hp mark, but +1 points for ingenuity and I hope this thing proves all of wrong and turns into a powerful long-lasting beast!

Sorry, but there is no way you will be pumping 200hp out of a 500cc motor.
And that Turbo is so large for that motor
Glad to see that he is doing something that looks like fun though and good for him that he is interested in doing this.
