I tried the alt063 but my laptop does not have a "numeric keypad", just the regular numbers atop the QWERTYUIOP, and the ? did not show. (my ? is fine, by the way)

I did not go through all of the options on the Ebay ad, did they offer some specifically for the CX? The CB750 valves are not an exact fit. I measured some years ago and I seem to remember that they were too long for the CX. Kibbelwhite can make you valves, you just have to decide if you want to spend that much. Unless your valves are bent a bit, a good machine shop should be able to do grind them enough to make them work. The other option might be to look for a used set of heads.

Thanks fellers. My keyboard is actually dying I think - though I have tried TFs suggestion. I am also missing a few capital letters. When all of this pi$$es me off enough I'll buy another cordless keyboard. But as a cheapskate what I can't fix I'll use until it becomes useless.

Laptops often have the number pad numbers above the letters in the middle of the keyboard. In that case it will be something like hold down the alt and Fn keys while typing MOL.

Its rare that an original problem develops in a 30 year old machine.

Your question has probably already been answered.

?? Ahh .... just realised from the above postings that you meant the numbers on the right of the keyboard, not the ones I normally type on at the top. Thanks TF .... and Wolfgang who'd also already given me the same advice that I was too stupid to follow....

I remember seeing those alternate keys on laptops before, with the numbers printed in a blue or other color from the base key characters, but both my wife's and mine don't have them. Good chance that both of ours have worn off, they are rather old laptops.

And sorry for the thread jack on this.
