For it to be a GL500i there is no "crap" to take off.

Maybe it will be more stable on the side stand if you turn the wheel to the left.

The cheapest option would be to use the center stand.

Its rare that an original problem develops in a 30 year old machine.

Your question has probably already been answered.

Fastest way to lower the rear is let the air out. Not advised.

Lowering bike height vs lowering the seat height can make a big difference.

Maybe you should show us a picture of what you want as an end product and we can tell you how to get there. Maybe even find the person who built it.

Spent some time over the past week tinkering with the silverwing. I was undecided about what direction to take it cuz I can dig it either way (faring but no bags, or bobber/cafe) decided I'll just stay the easy route and leave the fairing on. The more I tinker and do some touch up stuff the better it looks. The bike was actually purchased by my father several years ago. I have since acquired it.

@Blindstitch I appreciate the help, since I first asked about lowering this bike I have since realized it's not really in my best interest or desire haha. But I will put up some pictures as I go along and tinker around, somewhat restore, this bike. Tires on hopefully this week.

I have really enjoyed reading on this forum.

    Thanks, Mr Breeze.
