    Euro sport frame conversions issues?

Hey guys I currently have a cx500 complete bike that I'm going to strip down and build back up as a cafe racer, I am just wondering as I'm going to mono shock on the rear what is the best options?
There is a euro sport from and swing arm for sale for cheap will everything from a regular cx500 bolt straight on, drive shaft , rear wheels etc?

So I'd just be better off getting mono shock kick and welding it up, it's a shame there not simple swap, prefer the look of the euro end over mono conversion

You could use the whole euro frame and plonk your mechanicals and fuel tank on it if you have the forks and wheels.

Please fill in your profile so we know what your bike's model & year of manufacture is (there are significant differences between some models & years) and what part of the world you are in (see Forum Settings link in my signature).

As Murray said, you can't use a CX500 driveshaft in a Pro-Link swingarm, but if you use a GL500 (or CX500E) shaft it should work. Or are you talking about a CX650E frame? (There are differences but that can be made to work too - mine started as a CX650E but has had a GL500 swingarm & shaft, cx500 final drive & wheel and brake with CX&GL500 parts for over 10 years and about 90,000 Km)

The frame is a 1982 cx500 Eurosport, I'm from Australia. I havnt bought a bike yet because I wasn't sure on what option I really wanted to do yet but if the frame swap was easy enough I was going to buy the frame and source a bike after. In Australia the only common bike is a standard cx500 we don't many have gl etc

you have more than just the Standard CX500 in Australia. You also have the Customs , and the 500 and 650 Euro. And I bet there are more than a few Gl s with Prolink as well.

Yer customs are pretty common but there the same rear set up as a standard cx500 which isn't really my goal, the 650 is pretty rare havnt even seen one for sale for months and the Eurosport's are pricey when the come up especially since it's going to get rebuild from group anyway I don't want to spend 6k on a bike to build up a cafe racer out of

This is the frame, is this enough for me to buy a cx with dual shock and swap it all over to this frame? Back wheel etc?
