    New member saying hello

    Hi guys
    I own a GL500 standard, I live in England not much more to say.Needless to say the bike needs a bit of work

    Welcome Frank - you've found the right place - lots of great help here. Bike looks pretty good to me. Some of the barn finds that we see resurrected here are in a lot worse condition than that...

    I bought the GL: last Saturday, I had 2 CX;s in the 1980s, since then VT500,Moto Guzzi Targa,2 XN85,2 CBR1000,VF750sc,I bought a VFR800Fi1 in 2003 and still have that, But Ive been on the look out for a GL for years,

    Apart from a bit of rust and hand brushed paint its a good bike, strong engine pulls like a train.

    It's the motion that count's to me, I never cared what my bikes looked like. Well, almost. I kinda took better care of my Beemer. I kept that as well as I could cosmetically and mechanically.

    nearly any where is a good place to tour

    on a bike depends on the time of year summer &

    fall in new england summer in northern hemisphere

    90% percent of the tine mid Atlantic

    spring to early summer fall in cali winter in Arizona

    and if your'e a die hard anywhere any time

    a" tough day riding is better than a good day working"
