How do I take a screen shot?

I have noticed at the bottom of the main page of this forum these links.

    CX500 Forum Main Links

Problem is if I click on the "Old Forum Archives" I get a message "Invalid Page Specified". I am working with Angela with the support staff and she asked for a screen shot and I have no ideal how to do that. Can someone walk me through this?

My son installed a 'snipping tool' on my computer and that's what I use. It will save the images to your photo file and you can upload from there as normal. You can probably download one.

If you're using a Mac it's CMD+shift+4 and drag your cursor around the area you want to screenshot and it appears as a .png on your Desktop.

The link to the Old Forum Archives = "http://cx500forum.com/cs/forums/" doesn't work

Right side in the keyboard there is the key Prt Sc = Print screen.

Click once and insert it in f.e. IrfannView as a New Picture.

Save it and insert it as a picture in the email or what else.

In XP I use the Print Screen button (as Guelli mentioned) and paste it into my graphics software of choice. I haven't tried it in Win 10 yet but now I know to look for that tool

I have started a thread about the link not working in Site help & support Forum Archives button not working

I submitted a request about almost a month ago but I'm not that savvy with computers.

I have tried the Print Screen Button on my keyboard but can't get it to work. I must be pushing it wrong.

Pressing Print Screen saves a an image of of what is on your screen in the clipboard. You have to paste it into graphics software to view or save it.

Some email programs allow you to do print screen and paste directly to the text box, but this forum does not allow that function, sadly. That would be a really slick improvement, if it's possible in the VB software.

After you do the "print screen" button [actual command is ctrl/print screen], you have to "control-v" [or right click and paste, in windows] to paste it into Word or some other software that will handle pictures [jpeg file].

we are all given sh*t in life, but some of us learn to turn it into fertilizer and grow from it, and some us try to fling it on others like monkeys.
