    Theft-proof license plate screws

Here's an interesting challenge for you. My daughter, living now in St. Louis, just reported that she had her license plates stolen from her Sentra in Clayton (for those of you who are familiar with the St. Louis ambiance.) They were relatively new plates, just bought in December 2016, and I personally put them on her car. I admit to using the chintzy nylon plate screws you get at the FLAPS, and I torqued them down as far as it's reasonable with those things.
I'm going to be there Saturday, and assuming she has a new set by then, I'd like to mount them with something that's GUARAN-EFFING-TEED to be thief proof. One idea that I had, that might be over the top, is to use steel bolts and nuts and spot-weld them together after everything is in place. Since plates are semi-permanent, that only becomes a problem when you move, but I figure an angle grinder could take care of things in short order when that's needed.

I'm looking for other suggestions of a less draconian character.

In any case, I'll be taking my welding rig to St. Louis Friday - on my way to deliver my CX to Kansas City.

My father in law fills his screwheads with JB-weld. Wouldn't stop someone using vise grips to get them off but otherwise completely prevents anyone from getting a screwdriver in there...

JC, that's not a bad idea, but I want to trash the vise-grip guys as well. I'm still leaning toward the spot-weld.

I live on a one-way street that's also a dead end. I'm not sure how I got here, or how I'm going to get out.

Big steel pop rivets , with plastic washers so they spin if they try and drill them out. How about airbag under the licence plate holder, should knock stupid thief on his/her butt. Keep thinking of installing one in the seat of my bike, time delayed or speed triggered that is the question? Okay most contain evil side. Cheers
