For Sale: Lowered seat for CX500 Custom

This is an OEM seat that was shaved and customized by an upholstery shop to help shorter people touch the ground. The work was done about 6 months ago, but the bike sat in the garage and is like new. I would estimate it is about 2" lower than the stock seat, which is significant if you are on your toes.

    $80 + shipping from 94062.

I previously was trying to trade this for a stock OEM seat but apparently that is complicated. It seems easier to sell this seat and buy an OEM one. If you have an OEM seat in good condition I will promise to buy it from you for $80 + shipping if you buy my seat.

Oh Wow, I will be wanting this. But can't do anything until my next paycheck. But will a seat from a custom fit a Deluxe?

Deluxe and standard seats have a few differences in foam and cover but the pan is the same so they interchange.

The 500C is a smaller pan pressing to the others and bolts, rather than clips on.

Someone replied to my previous thread saying that the custom seat does not interchange, sorry!

So it won't fix, darn. Well best of luck, I know there other short riders like me out there that love to get a lowered seat. And your price is very fair.

I don't think a lowered seat would even do it for me. Maybe coupled with lower shock brackets, smaller tires, unacceptable driveshaft angle, by the time it is finished mine would look like a monkey bike.

While it may not solve the whole issue for you, every inch gained is a lot better then it was before.

Narrower helps too. The less far your thighs are pushed apart the straighter you can have your legs to reach the ground. The standard and D seats are pretty wide.

Bump... yup, still have this seat, been busy with other stuff... Now living near Sacramento (zip 95695). It's funny I had sold the cx500, didn't have it for 1.5 years, but bought it back (again!) and now this thing feels like a Harley cruiser to me relative to my new bike (2014 Zero S).

The footpeg-to-seat distance with this lowered seat is just too cramped, I feel like my knees are half-way to my chest, and although the seat cradles my butt well, I like to be able to move around on the seat a little and this is like sitting in a bucket.

Okay, lowering price to $60 plus actual shipping.
