So while Im searching for a bike, I got good insight from a fellow member in NC to invest my time to get my Basic Rider Course here in Florida. Anyone from Florida know the best route to get my course and, from what Ive heard, you may get your license the last day of the course??

Also I've heard the prices are $175-199 for a 2 day weekend course??

Any info will be greatly appreciated thanks!

Good decision, the things you will learn can't be overstated.

What type of bike are you looking for, naked or touring?

Naked, more build toward the racer but made for a straight 2-seater. Cx500 STANDARD is my preferred, but I am also considering a CB-four. Gotta look hard to find a gem, so I have to work on some patience.

The principles of riding that you will learn in that class will safe your life (and your paint job) time and again. You are doing very well already, to accept training before you buy a bike.

Here in Florida it's required to take a course before the state will issue a motorcycle license - however one is not required to have insurance on a motorcycle but is required on a car. And if you do have insurance on your bike you may ride around with no helmet.

    go figure?
#1=81 GL500I rider sold to Steve, #2=82 Yellow GL500I rider, #3=81 GL500 rider that is/has become parts bike, #4 = 83 GL650 in need of full restore but is becoming a parts bike #5= GL650I rolling basket case that is now on the road #6= Naked GL650 runs but have not started on it yet is missing title but after it's 30 years old next year I can get a new title here in Florida with only a bill of sale.

It's almost as if they just do not care about motorcyclists in Florida, having Daytona, were I believe bikes outnumber cars, most don't blink an eye to the no-helmet/insurance law... tsk tsk
