Is there an actual "lining" of some sort inside the brake drum...where the brake pads are going to make contact?

Or is the inside of the drum just plain steel..with no lining? (not sure if my wheels are steel or aluminium?)

Thus..If you sand it off, as is suggested..wont you remove any lining, that is suppose to be there?

Im sure its impossible to sand that area too thin..lol...

    Thanx

The hub is an aluminium {aluminum} alloy.

The part the brake shoes run on is a shrunk or pressed in hoop of steel. ... Or it's inserted into the cast or .....

I don't think you'll sand it too thin by hand.
