Is there anyway to test the cdi unit using a meter? Buying one would not be such a crap shoot if this were possible.

    Thanks Ken

I believe there is a test in the manual but I have never tried it. Manuals can be downloaded in my signature line.

I to think that my CDI is bad. Is there anyway to check out if that is the problem before spending $ on a new OLD CDI. Does anyone make a new replacement unit?

Thanks for any and all help

Did you see my reply to your post in this thread?

There is a new replacement cdi available but it is quite expensive.

You would be best to buy an ignitech if your cdi is bad. It replaces your old cdi but is not dependent on the stator for power, it runs off of the battery.
