Anyone wanna help a newbie out?

    Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and have been recommended by my best bud Technodrive who tells me the people on this forum are incredibly helpful.

I'm completely new to motorcycles. I recently got my license and have some experience riding but have never worked on a motorcycle.
I was fortunate enough to get a good deal on an 1983 CX650 Custom. It's not in running condition but Technodrive assured me that it is salvageable with a bit of know-how. He has a 1980 cx500 and has rebuilt it several times and tells me the cx series aren't terribly difficult to work on.
I'm sure you've all heard the usual, "I've worked on cars for years so I have some mechanical experience how different could a bike be?" line. But that's pretty much me. Zero knowledge about motorcycles but willing and excited to learn.

    Here's the bike in tow.

    How'd I do?

Looks like the fan damaged the radiator. Checked it for leaks and it appears to be okay.

Bought a replacement fan, master cylinder, and a new battery. However, I think I'm missing the sub wire harness and thermostat? I dunno.
I have the radiator, cover, grill, and fan. Is there anything else I'm missing?

I have the seat and I can't seem to get the tank open.
Tried looking for what I needed around the forum but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated and I'm glad to be apart of the cx team.

    Thanks for the help.

    I'll grab the harness.

What photos (if any) would be helpful to see what else I may need to replace or order?

your left manifold has a bad crack in it and will need replacing or fixing

take the tank off and shoot a few pictures

then turn around and take a few looking back so i can see if any of the wiring modules are missing
