i found another pod filter that will work with the mikunis and on the stock carbs

it will squeeze down slightly on the stock carbs

you have to expand it a bit for the mikunis but it has no lip and is the right throat size for the mikunis and does not

interfere with with the air flow

it is also smaller in size so lets you put the side covers on way easier

let them know when you order that you are from the forum they will give us a discount

Just rebuilt my carbs, rejetted and picked these up. Brian is great as you indicated and took seconds to install. Great find Murray, appreciate it!

damn I just bought the 34mm MikesXS pods! Oh, and I guess it's time to stop trolling and introduce myself. I'm from Portland, Or and am headed to pick up my new to me 81 cx500 in less than 2 hours! I'll be picking up some mikuni's from Murray here in the next couple weeks as well! I've been reading learning and laughing for a bout two weeks now and just want to say you guys are great! Cheers! -Gregg

Hey guys, I'm relatively new here and in the formative stages of my teardown/build. I am currently going through the pod/stock airbox debate with myself. It sounds like the pods provide an excess amount of air to the carbs making re-tuning the carbs necessary. I was wondering if anyone ever thought of or did put just one pod on the carbs. By this I mean you would have some sort of large diameter Y-pipe attached to the carbs with only one pod on the single exit of the y-pipe. This would clean up the look of the bike without increasing the airflow as much as dual pods. Re-jetting may still be necessary, but it may maintain closer to stock performance.

Can anyone see any issues with this?
