I never used to .... but they've grown on me.

While used on many other bikes in the Honda range at the time they suit the CX design by being low maintenance. No more tapping spokes.

Spokes look cool but cost/effort involved is a bit much for me.

$500 for hub and bracket only. With rotor, rim, spokes, caliper and brake pedal changes I believe you'll have around $800-900 invested to change the rear to a spoked wheel using his kit.
I would put that estimate a little higher. I would put it closer to the $1100 +/-

Well, He wants around $330 with the front hub and with bearings should be around $350. He uses a Sun Rim which costs $280 in black and spokes are another $110. Which means he's charging $140 to lace and true a single wheel.

Now, obviously the Sun Rims from Buchanan are great but if I wanted quality+price I'd opt for a Excell at over $100 less or roughly $180. You can also knock $10 off the SS spokes pretty easy. If I went cheap I'd opt for a $100-120 rim. Finally, I definitely wouldn't spend any more than $100 on a lace and true. Buchanan only charges $107 and I consider them to be top tier.

If I were questimate again it would be:

    - Hub + bearings $505
    - Used Rotor $35
    - Used Caliper $50
    - New Pads $30
    - Rim $185
    - Spokes $100
    - Lace $100
    - Brake Hose $20
    - Rear Master $30
    - Mounting Rear Master?

    $1055 shipped

If you went cheap black rim and laced yourself then you're at $900. Plus whatever extra to mount the rear master cylinder/linkage. Super expensive still but I'm sure it weights a lot less than the stock wheel. =]

Oh this is awesome! I have the bolt-on rings, and I've been having a hard time finding spokes that will work with the front rings and a 17" supermoto rim. It'll be lovely if he's selling spokes that will work! I'm stoked! No... spoked! about this new availability!

Have you ever talked to Buchanan? IIRC, they can make custom spokes to your application.

    Charles.
The Spokes that Cognito sells are for his front hubs and not ring adapters, the diameter will be different and in doing so the spokes will be different length.
If you want spokes for your ring adapters for a specific wheel, you will either A) need to figure out the spoke length and type, and order them or B) send your front hub with adapter rings and the rim to Buchanons so they can make the spokes you need and they can either do a loose lace or lace it for you
