That's the 35W exit to Northfield. From Eden Prairie that's an all-day ride for me so I like it. Count me in unless something interferes between now and then.

That doesn't tell me what part of Minneapolis area it is located. North, south, east or west of downtown.

Seems like I am seeing more and more GL's on the road around here. Stitch, do you still have the template you used to make up those business card leave behinds you handed out at the Spring Ride a couple of years ago?

I'd totally be down with something like that. I live just west of Chaska, so Thumper and Surf-or-Ski, maybe we could meet up and ride together.

Movie recommendations:
On Any Sunday
The World's Fastest Indian
The Motorcycle Diaries (that is, if you don't mind subtitles)
You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you’re always in a compartment, and because you’re used to it you don’t realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You’re a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame.

On a cycle the frame is gone. You’re completely in contact with it all. You’re in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming. That concrete whizzing by five inches below your foot is the real thing, the same stuff you walk on, it’s right there, so blurred you can’t focus on it, yet you can put your foot down and touch it anytime, and the whole thing, the whole experience, is never removed from immediate consciousness.

Just an FYI: You would be competing against a BMW rally on the weekend of the 7th & 8th. Four days of free water park as part of the rally fee is hard to compete with.

I would be attending the BMW event if I had to make a choice, but your venue sounds like a lot of fun too.

Hey all. Sept. 22 and 23 work out just fine. The agenda is still loose so any suggestions other than mine are welcome. The flic The worlds fastest indian is a great suggestion. Watched it twice back to back once . Remember overnighter campers are welcome.Family members are welcome as well. Have plenty of room. Just hope for good solid fall weather. Randall if you would send out a memo as offered that would be great. Any ideas on best how to handle food? We've got a good grill. Hope this plays out. Should be a lot of fun. Michael.

Got it on the calendar and plan to be there on 9/22. Mike, when you say 'ride around the lakes,' are you talking about Rice / LeSueur / Waseca Counties?

Haven't worked out a specific route as of yet but was thinking of the lakes around Faribault, Morristown, etc. I'm open to suggestions. Have also considered that some of the riders may be coming from a ways away and might simply prefer to just hang out in and around the barn tweeking bikes shooting the breeze and resting their backsides. That would be cool also. My modest amount of tools are available to anyone. Haven't figured out how to do the food yet. Have considered hiring a local caterer but would need a specific head count. Have also considered hiring a food truck. Burgers, brats, etc. Also the truck stop is an easy four miles away. I realize that late Sept. is a weather crap shoot but hopefully will be decent. If enough folks are interested I'll hire some local tunesters for some knee slappin. Lastly, my brother and I did a 270 miler yesterday and went through Alma Wisconsin. If you ever get the chance to go through there check out their city park up on the bluff. The view will blow you away. Just don't slip on the edge. Michael.

I can do a route, if you like. We could almost do it on the fly, but I can have something written down PDQ. I have bike maps of Rice, LeSueur and Waseca Counties, among others. Let me know if you want me to do that. I will submit it to you in advance, if you like.

My brother, his wife and I did about 200 miles today just a bit north and east of Alma - a real alphabet soup ride (because Wisconsin county roads are designated with one or two letters, e.g., County Road A, County Road AA, County Road B, County Road BB, etc). They were both riding Honda Pacific Coasts (800cc), but I could keep up. Fun ride. What was your brother riding?

Also, you can edit the quotes to show just the part you're citing (really helps folks follow the conversation), add emphasis, etc. (Please do this when you quote a post that includes lots of pics.) Just be sure to leave the quote tags in place.
