Hi just to say hello to you all, had several CXs in the past was a member many years ago of the original yahoo group when we clubbed together and sent a van to Germany and brought an old dealership of Honda CXs not sure what happened to it all, I know I didn't even get a single nut and bolt out of it so I think someone did all right out of it 😀 😉

I not sure of the history of the German expedition, it was 30 years ago. From what I can remember, there was a club / dealer who had a lock up full of engines, frames, tanks, basically enough spares to make several bikes (sounds like a German chop shop selling stolen goods, when I look back now) we were asked to donate money towards buying the entire lock up, this we did and someone drove over to Germany in the works van he had use of and collected everything. I've no idea where it went to, and even though I donated £50 towards it all I was never asked if I needed anything. I do know 1 of the guys who organised it all got a lovely CX500 straight from Germany

The group purchase from Germany that Rob Davis was involved with was only 20 years ago. Rob has long ago left the CX community to pursue newer & less maintenance intensive motorcycles but his CX/GL500/650 Web Resource has been preserved at Motofaction, including this page about the bike he built from some of the parts

That's the one, I thought it was more like 30 years, back in the dark ages before Facebook groups it was all done on yahoo, and the way I remember it only a few chosen people had access to treasure trove, hence why lots of us left
